1.                Who are you?
From Time to Time is made up of two experienced and knowledgeable social historians.  We have been involved in living history interpretation for over 26 years, giving talks for most of that time.  Our love of music means that singing is always included in our talks.

We are continually researching our subjects to find new and up-to-date information.  With so much experience, we are able to adapt our presentations to fit any group’s requirements.

We want to make the past interesting by making it fun!

The rest, as they say, is history!

2.                Why should we book you?
Today’s world is full of ways to get knowledge of the past, from films and television to computers – so much easier than in times gone by, but not necessarily the most interesting ways or the most accurate!

Living history interpretation is an entertaining and exciting way to engage everyone’s attention, by presenting you with ‘real’ people from past times.  You can talk to us and ask questions, touch and smell the artefacts, work out just what ordinary life would have been like for you, by interacting in a way that will stick in your memory!

3.                How do I book a talk?
Use the Contact page on our website, email (info@fromtimetotime.co.uk) or phone us (07817 576183) with your enquiry and possible dates.  We recommend that you give us alternative dates as our diary does get booked up.

We will confirm the booking as soon as possible after checking our diaries.

4.                What areas do you cover?
We cover Worcestershire, North Gloucestershire, and Herefordshire, dependent on the distance required to travel.  However, we will consider other areas. Email or phone us and we will work out whether the cost and distance is workable!!

5.           Which groups do you talk to?
We are on the Approved Speakers Lists for the Worcestershire Federation of Women’s Institutes, Gloucestershire Local History Association, Probus SW, and the Worcestershire History Forum.  Other groups include Townswomen’s Guilds, local history societies, art groups, church groups, U3A, Rotary, National Trust groups, and a whole range of others (see ‘Previous Events’ page).

We also give adapted talks to special groups, such as visually impaired, dementia, care homes and retirement villages (see ‘Special Groups’ page for further details)

6.             What do you do in your talks?
We arrive and leave as representations of ordinary women from your chosen eras.

Our costumes are carefully researched and are as accurate as possible, made by us and some from original patterns.  Everything we bring, say, sing and do is thoroughly researched to make the talks as accurate as possible.

Our talks are very interactive – our aim is to make history fun for everyone!

7.             Do you need any special equipment for the talk?
All we require are a table and 2 chairs, a jug of water and 2 glasses.

For  large halls, we are happy to use any PA system available, but always require 2 microphones, and ask that someone checks beforehand that the system is fully charged.

8.             How long are the talks?
Our talks last for an hour.  We only need a few minutes to set things up beforehand for some talks,  so do not panic if we are not with you until 5 minutes before the start of the talk!

9.            We want a special talk/subject that you do not cover.
Get in touch with us to discuss your requirements.  We can adapt our talks to any situation or even create new ones if the subject is suitable.

10.             How much does it cost and how do we pay?
The cost is £70 for each talk plus travel costs at 45p per mile (the government approved mileage rate).  We will work out travel costs to and from your venue when you first enquire.  If the venue is a considerable distance away, a distance charge may be added.

An invoice is provided beforehand.  We prefer payment by bank transfer and details are on the invoice.  Payment can be made by cheque or cash if preferred, to be made at the time of the talk.
